It has been 30 years since 14 women were murdered at Montreal’s Ecole Polytechnique.
The victims were female engineering students, pioneers in a male-dominated field.
They were killed by an anti-feminist man as they studied on campus.
They all had bright futures ahead of them, but their lives were brought to an end by an act of violence.
Just because they were women.
The anti-feminist attack happened in Quebec, but women across Canada continue to be affected by violence and femicide, including here in Saskatoon.
SWCC members can speak to the prevalence of violence against women in our city.
